So sorry to hear about Cecil. You guys all know that your father and mother were more like my extended parents than just very good friends. I really miss not being able to see all of yall (had to put that southern touch to it ha ha). Please remember all the good times you had with your parents. I miss them both very much they always had something funny to say and liked to play tricks on everyone. Love to all.

To Steve and Velma: Both of you lost your father's in the same month. My heart goes out to you. Brian lost both of his Grandfather's who were both such great men of God and good farmers. To Olin and Marlys: Your parents were both such good friends to Marva and John and I am grateful. I can still see them both in their pew in Sumner, IA FBC. May the God of all comfort be with you all.

I am very sorry to hear about Uncle Cecil. He was
one of my favorite uncles among a lot of favorite
uncles. I remember so many good memories from so long
ago. Pheasants spread on the back porch in Iowa. Coon
hunting when I was too little to go in 1955. His broad
shoulders. I thought he was a giant! His pictures from
the Germany concentration camps. He was a hero and a
GREAT AMERICAN. I love you guys. David

Cards were a must around Cecil to play when people were around. Although you were tough to beat the laughs we had. Irene would normally partner up with Scotty, and Cecil and I played as a partners. I remember if I did not play something right away he would say" common play something" Lol. The trip to Branson Missouri was so memorable. You were a kind man and truly loved your family. Tell all the loved ones up there hi. love you scotty, carol and travis
